What is the TLC Medical Exam?

Thus, if you plan to drive people for a living in NYC, you need this exam. You can get a TLC medical exam on the same day at our urgent care center in Brooklyn.

  •     Green or boro taxis
  •     Uber drivers
  •     Lyft drivers
  •     Luxury limousines
  •     Black car limo drivers

What Does This Exam Cover?

The purpose of a TLC medical exam is to determine if you have any medical conditions that could prevent you from safely operating a vehicle.

The medical professional or doctor will first ask about your medical history, including any surgeries, illnesses or medications that you take. They will also ask about your family’s medical history. Then a physical exam will be done.

Your examination will typically include:

  •     Blood pressure and heart rate evaluation
  •     Hearing and vision screening
  •     Physical exam

During the physical exam portion, the doctor will listen to your heart and lungs, examine your ears, nose, and throat. They will also examine your posture and spine for any abnormalities and check your reflexes and neurological functioning.

The doctor or health provider may order additional testing, such as EKG if you have heart problems, to determine if you can safely operate a motor vehicle.
