Additional family members can also get tested during the home visit, free of any additional surcharge.

Benefits of at-home mobile COVID testing

In these times of restrictions and limited movement, it can be quite problematic to get tested at a health care facility when you want to. For your convenience and for optimum safety and protection, a mobile unit with one of our health care providers can come to your home to provide Rapid or PCR COVID-19 tests. This way, you won’t have to worry about getting exposed to the Coronavirus at a public testing hub or station.

Do you have a family member who is unable to go to a testing facility to get tested? A health care provider will, in a Statcare van for mobile testing, come to your home and perform COVID-19 testing on the elderly, physically incapacitated, bedridden or vulnerable members of your family.

Are at-home COVID-19 test kits accurate?

At-home COVID-19 test kits may not be completely accurate. There are risks to using home collection kits, like QuickVue and Pixel by Labcorp, and accuracy is one of them. If you get one step wrong, like when you collect your sample via a nasal swab, the result may already be compromised. Home test kit results also take longer as it will require 1-2 days for lab testing.

If you are after the convenience of home testing and would like to get immediate results, request an at-home mobile COVID testing service performed by a healthcare professional using reliable testing kits and equipment.

Who should get tested for COVID-19?

You should get tested for COVID-19 if you believe you have come in close contact with someone who has symptoms or someone who tested positive for the virus, whether you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or not.

Should I get tested after close contact with someone who has COVID-19 if I am fully vaccinated?

You should get tested after close contact with someone who has COVID-19 even if you are fully vaccinated. Although the COVID vaccines can help reduce the risk of severe infection, you could still be an asymptomatic carrier of the virus. Getting tested will help determine the length of your quarantine and if people who came in close contact with you need to get tested as well. Check out this CDC fact sheet for more information.

Do I need to quarantine after testing negative for the coronavirus disease?

You still need to quarantine after testing negative for the coronavirus disease. The CDC recommends self-isolating for 14 days to monitor the development of symptoms. The quarantine period can end at Day 10 even without testing as long as there are no symptoms detected during those first 10 days.

How much does an at-home COVID test cost?

An at-home COVID test costs the same as it would if you get it at a testing center. There is a $250 additional charge for the mobile testing team to come to your home but this will be a fixed surcharge price, regardless of how many family members are getting tested that day. For gatherings, events, and large groups, please send us an inquiry to check for availability and special discounts.

You should contact your health insurance carrier to check if they cover the cost of at-home COVID tests. For those without insurance, we offer the same payment rates for in-clinic COVID tests, whether out-of-pocket or via credit card.

How long will it take to get COVID test results?

COVID test results will only take 15 minutes via a Rapid Antigen test. This short turnaround time is the reason why it is called a Rapid Test. You will immediately know if you are positive or negative for the COVID-19 virus a few minutes after the mobile team tests you.

RT-PCR tests require longer lab testing periods. After each test arrives at the lab, a phlebotomist will need to test it thoroughly. These kinds of tests detect the SARS COV-2 virus after 3 to 7 days. You may wait for Statcare to deliver the results via phone call or you may check the Statcare patient portal for COVID test results.
